Philip has been serving as the Senior Pastor at Balkum Baptist Church since the Fall of 2023. He resides in Dothan, AL with his wife Holly and enjoys his roles of husband, father, and grandfather.
Philip's passion is people, It is his purpose in life to see people grow in their relationships, by loving God and loving one another (Matt 22:37-39). He considers teaching God's Word as one of life's greatest privileges, since sound doctrine is crucial for growth in our relationship with Jesus Christ through the power and ministry of the Holy Spirit in our individual lives (Eph 4:14-15). It is Philip's mission to make true disciples (Matt 28:18-20), those who are willing to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ not just by hearing God's Word, but by doing God's Word (James 1:22-25) and by allowing the authority of God's Word to conform them into the image of His Son Jesus Christ (Rom 12:2).
